PULP WRITERS:

H.P. LOVECRAFT

ILLUSTRATION // PRINT MEDIA

An author portrait commissioned for an ongoing series in the newspaper Göteborgsposten focusing on genre defining authors. All written by journalist Mattias Hagberg.

This depicts H.P. Lovecraft whose Cthulhu mythos inspired generations of horror litterature and pop culture. His work was mainly published as short stories in small pulp magazines and was almost completely lost after his death. It’s only because of a small group of dedicated fans that we have his rich mythological tales of indescribable horror.

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown”

H.P. Lovecraft
